Day 38

Mayor Joseph Estrada arriving in Hong Kong
I would like to express thanks to the mayor of Manila for extending the apology from the Philippines all the way to Hong Kong because of the shooting 3 years ago. It was all over the news that the Philippines was sought sincere in apologising that the Hong Kong chief executive lowered the Black alert amongst tourists visiting Philippines to amber, he status right before the shooting happened. Amendments were done as for the victims' families to show support. It is believed that they were given an undisclosed amount of compensation which I hope are enough to help them start over again.

Hong Kong people are quite sympathetic to Filipinos here in Hong Kong, most especially, the majority, which are domestic helpers, who may have experienced some sort of discrimination and public maltreatment while no apologies were given by the Philippine president Benigno Aquino. This somewhat lifts up the anxiety from Philippine residents here in Hong Kong. Thank God for this move. Read here for further details of the Manila mayor's visit.

Happiness to all Filipino Overseas Workers here in Hong Kong and to their families.
