Ate Michelle with her family visiting Hong Kong - 2014 |
One of the best times I had in my life was growing up as a Thomasian. I have studied in the University of Santo Tomas for 14 years and during my college years, I had joined the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe to earn a scholarship grant in College. Enrolling in the field of Chemical Engineering really wasn't my calling as I got distracted with my passion to dance with the group. It didn't make me last as I was convinced by my own parents to change courses choosing Nursing instead which led me to give up my golden award as a Loyalty Awardee of the university. It didn't matter that much because as of the present, dancing had been my way of life and was the job that puts food on the table. I don't plan to throw away my degree but God had put me into delivering happiness as a parade dancer so, I am just using my talents at its maximum.
Along the way, I have met people who up until now remain to be friends and Ate Michelle is one of those people that no matter the distance, years apart and life changing events, she's still the same real person I know. I was so happy to meet up with her along with my Hong Kong family here since we share a common thing, being born in the month of November. Sitting down over dinner and talking about how our lives have changed were so much of a fast forward but one thing's for sure, she will friendship will stay intact and alive because we are bonded for life. God bless Ate Mich and family. Until we meet again.
